Airfoil aerodynamic analysis is one of the key applications of CFD simulations. Our Solver - QuickerSim CFD Toolbox for MATLAB ® provides a selection of tools enabling simulation of both subsonic and supersonic airflows over airfoils and other aerodynamic bodies.

The Toolbox contains a variety of turbulence models such as the Srebric model dedicated to outdoor aerodynamics. Supplementary functions such as boundary layer generation allow to improve imported meshes by adjusting the grid refinement in the near wall region. For supersonic cases, there is an adaptive mesh refinement function which adapts the grid based on pressure jumps caused by shockwaves.  Our  CFD software also contains tools for simple computation of forces and moments, which allows  to assess drag and lift coefficients.

All of these features can be combined with our mesh deformation function and MATLAB’s built-in optimization functions to create an efficient mechanism for airfoil design.
