Shallow Water Equations

Shallow water equations constitute a simplified approach to 3-D fluid flows in which the depth of the basin is significantly smaller than its spanwise dimension. Shallow water equations can be applied both to tanks and other technical equipment as well as large natural basins.

QuickerSim CFD Toolbox for MATLAB® provides a dedicated solver for Shallow Water Equations enabling faster simulation of industrial and environmental cases. The Toolbox uses simple syntax familiar to other CFD simulations making such cases available even to beginners. Take full advantage of the Toolbox and integrate terrain maps, weather forecasts or other data into the simulation. Visualize your results using MATLAB’s ® powerful post-processing tools.

Case: Spreading out of the wave in a rectangular domain with a cut corner. The level of water is significantly rescaled to emphasize the effect.
